a discovery of new palate for espresso...floral, cocoa, raw teiquanyin tea, hints of nuts, detected fruits on the finish. had it in latte and the flavours were not lost with the milk.
One word: "shocker". As a big fan of the Gesha Variety, REA was truly very unique. The sweet orange candy aromas that hit my nose the moment I opened the bag for the first time truly took me aback. After brewing, the sweet smells of the coffee really do linger around in the room even after the coffee is finished. Taste-wise, I personally love the floral aftertaste, typical of many high-quality Geshas. First time trying coffee from this brand and I'll definitely be back for more.
A complex, tasty bean! Very enjoyable
Great beans!
Loved it. The orange notes came out very strongly for me. The flavour evolution as it cools broughtout the orange notes even more strongly. I like my coffees bright, acidic and citrusy, and this bag hit all the right notes for me.
it was wonderful! much needed in the cold weather
Great flavours and a nice mix of different kinds of beans.
Would love to get some brewing instructions, like brew temperature and brew ratio.
It was the complete course I was looking for. Something alot more hands-on and it was more like an apprenticeship than your typical 'course'. Thank you team!!
tastes like like lunar new year and a mont black had a non-milk baby
Juicy cup with nice aroma. Well balanced flavors and good body, with smooth tea-like finish.
I tend to like coffee with more citrus notes. The champagne, wine-y notes come out strongly. Freshly brewed, the aroma fills the brewing space. Love it.
lovely! Especially "Next to the orange tree", Flavourfull and smooth! Enjoy it so much!
Nice design!
This coffee taste like strawberries. Extremely similar to JAIRO ARCILA SANTA MONICA's strawberry macerated pink bourbon.
Great material!
elevate your daily brew with single origin coffee beans
Celebrate the pure character of origin
Every single-origin coffee tells a story of its birthplace. Unlike traditional blends crafted for uniform consistency, single-origin coffee beans showcase the unique terroir, climate, and altitude of specific micro-lots from around the world. Each cup offers an unadulterated taste of its home region.
Meticulous sourcing, precision roasting
Some of our coffees are traceable further still. A single farm or estate means one mill or cooperative. A microlot narrows it again, one plot, one harvest, kept separate because it tasted like something worth keeping separate. The highlands it grew in end up in the cup.
Elevate your daily brew
Experience coffee at its absolute peak by buying directly from Prodigal Roasters. We roast in small, deliberate batches to guarantee maximum freshness delivered straight to your door across Singapore. Whether you prefer a precise V60 pour-over, an Aeropress, or a nuanced espresso shot, our single-origin selection turns your daily caffeine ritual into a genuine tasting experience.
COFFEE BEANS IN SINGAPORE
Frequently Asked Questions
What is single-origin coffee, and how does it differ from a blend?
Single-origin coffee comes from a single traceable location, such as a specific farm, cooperative, or micro-lot, rather than a combination of beans from multiple regions.
While blends are crafted for consistent flavour profiles year-round, single-origin coffees highlight the distinct terroir, seasonal harvest, and natural characteristics of a specific origin.
How long should I rest single-origin coffee before brewing?
Because we roast light to preserve clarity, sweetness, and complex aromatics, our single-origin coffees benefit from a resting period. We recommend waiting 2 to 3 weeks after the roast date for washed coffees, and 3 to 4 weeks for natural or anaerobic processed lots. This allows carbon dioxide to degas fully, resulting in cleaner extraction and balanced flavours.
Which brewing method works best for single-origin coffee beans?
Filter brewing methods like the Hario V60, Kalita Wave, Aeropress, and Chemex excel at highlighting the bright acidity and delicate fruit notes of our single origins. That said, many of our offerings also produce vibrant, complex espresso shots when dialled in with a high yield ratio. See our brew ratio guide.
How should I store my coffee to keep it fresh?
Store your beans in their original valve bag with the zip seal tightly closed, or transfer them to an airtight canister. Keep the bag in a cool, dark place away from heat, direct sunlight, and moisture. Avoid refrigerating daily-use coffee, as opening the bag subjects the cold beans to moisture-damaging condensation.
